At Hopscotch we hold a number of events throughout the year. We enjoy getting together as a nursery and with parents to celebrate many different occassions and achievements. Please see below for more information about our main annual events.
Easter Bonnet Parade
Easter is a time for us to come together with our big friends at Shifnal Primary School to take part in the Easter Bonnet Parade. Each child makes a bonnet which we wear in the school hall and the best one wins an Easter egg - although at Hopscotch we're all winners so every child recieves an egg to take home!
Our annual 'Hopscotch Sports Day' is full of fun activities for all our Nursery School children (and spectators!!) to take part in! Whether your strength is running, skipping, jumping or the good old egg and spoon race, there's something for everyone! Each year we have a Mum's, Dad's and even Grandparent's race so make sure you're prepared!! For this year's Sports day Newsletter please click here.
Teddy Bear's Picnic
During the Summertime, we like to get outdoors as much as possible to make use of the nice weather! The Teddy Bear’s Picnic is just one of our Summer occasions where we can take the opportunity to get our babies, toddlers, nursery schoolers and their favourite teddy bears all together for a picnic in our beautiful garden! A date has not yet been selected for the 2017 Teddy Bear’s Picnic but we’ll try our very very best to choose a nice, sunny day! Please check our Newsletters in a couple of weeks for this year’s date and information!
Our annual Christmas Party is a fun and exciting experience for all of the children. It's a great oppurtunity for the whole nursery and parents to join together and have a boogie with our bespoke disco and dj which is geared especially for under 5's. Our children get to sing their favourite Christmas songs, eat some yummy buffet food and get a visit (and a gift!) from Father Christmas!
Every year at Hopscotch we have a Nativity performance where every Nursery School child has a starring role. Parents, carers, family and friends are invited to join us for this event which is guaranteed to make you weep! We will supply the costumes, you just need to bring the tissues!
It is a Hopscotch tradition that we give our leavers a really good send off which comprises of a Graduation ceremony followed by a garden party. All our children achieve so much during their time with us and we take this opportunity to celebrate these achievements and reassure our leavers that the transition to big school is an exciting and positive time! "Graduation was a very emotional and happy day for us. I love the fact that Hopscotch make such a big thing about the children's transition to school. I feel that this really instilled confidence in B and made him understand that it is an exciting step rather than a scary one"
